Title: Entry-Level Substance Abuse Disorder (SUD) Counselor
Status: 40 Hours a Week (Varying Shifts)

Salary: $15+ DOE
The group home SUD counselor reports directly to the program manager. Primarily responsible for the supervision and facilitation of adolescents involved in treatment and recovery services at a 30-day residential drug and alcohol recovery program for adolescents aged 12-17. Supervision and substance abuse recovery treatment for adolescents aged 12-17 in a residential facility. Attend all staff meetings, performance reviews, and other personnel requirements such as adherence to the agency dress code, vacation scheduling, and timely data collection. Participate in cultural development activities, planning, and adherence to agency policies, procedures and data collection requirements in a timely manner. Responsiveness to agency-wide quality assurance measures, including: data collection, peer review, forms committee recommendations, training, and others as appropriate. Compliance with Community Care Licensing requirements for training and clearances. Maintain up-to-date record-keeping, documentation, and client filing systems.
Qualifications, Skills, Knowledge And Experience: Within two weeks of hire date, must possess or be registered and working toward a recognized State of California Alcohol and Drug certification and have two years of experience. May also possess Bachelor's degree in human services field with one year of experience working with alcohol and drug related issues and addictions (state AOD certification still required). All staff and volunteers must be free of parole and probation for at least one year. Ability to pass criminal history clearance by Trustline or a similar County-approved screening method. Must have a clean driving record. Exception to qualification requirement: Staff actively working toward certification and registered within two weeks of hire date such as outlined above with at least one year experience in alcohol and drug services, who receives formal supervision from an on-site staff person meeting the previously defined qualification criteria.
