The co-occurring mental health worker reports directly to the program manager and receives supervision from the clinical supervisor. He/she participates on the integrated treatment team and is primarily responsible for providing a variety of co-occurring mental health services. Assess clients face-to-face to establish medical necessity in compliance with all Title 22 diagnosis requirements and per ASAM Criteria or DSM 5. Ensure 100% of clients are screened for co-occurring mental health conditions. Administer comprehensive assessments, including SUD assessments (i.e., ASI, ASAM), high-risk assessment, BHA, and other approved mental health assessments as indicated. Provide mental health interventions for co-occurring clients and, as clinically indicated, facilitate referrals for specialty mental health services.

Qualifications, Skills, Knowledge and Experience: Must be California-licensed AMFT, LCSW, LPCC, Psychologist, or associated license-eligible status and registered with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences or Board of Psychology. Registered interns must participate in supervision, and licenses must be in good standing and clear of disciplinary actions for a minimum of three years at the date of hire. Must have a clean driving record, with a minimum of two years driving experience Past experience should demonstrate at least one year providing co-occurring services; understanding of engagement, outreach, and motivational interviewing techniques; ability to maintain up-to-date records, documentation, and filing systems; exceptional interpersonal skills and an ability to work on a team; and strong knowledge of the needs of adults with substance use disorders and the systems that serve them. Must comply with all agency and contract requirements related to trainings, public health, certifications, reporting, etc. Bilingual proficiency preferred.
