Phoenix House California is currently seeking an Entry Counselor to work in our California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) program. The CDCR program has established a Single-Level Substance Use and Disorder Treatment (SUDT) program. The SUDT program is designed for offenders who demonstrate the willingness to maintain appropriate behavior to take advantage of such programming and for offenders who have been referred to the program based upon substance use or possession infractions.
The goal of the Phoenix House California CDCR program is to address offenders’ criminogenic needs prior to release and to facilitate a successful transition back to their communities in order to reduce their likelihood of re-offending.
The treatment services include a wide range of substance use treatment components; assessments, treatment planning, case management, group and/or individual counseling, skill building, drug education, and relapse prevention.
The Entry Level Counselor shall:
Phoenix House conducts as needed, job-related background checks, fingerprints, drug testing, physical exams, medical exams, TB testing, verification of employment history and/or reference checks prior to employment.
