(Full-Time, Part-Time, and Per-Diem) Under the supervision of the Facility Manager, the Recovery Support Staff (RSS) provides the operational support to facilitate the delivery of optimal clinical services to clients. They will ensure that clients adhere to the day-to-day program schedule, tracking attendance as required. Conduct routine facility checks to ensure facility safety and security. The RSS reviews client property/items upon admission or receipt to ensure compliance with facility and program rules along with conducting contraband searches and drug screen analysis administration in accordance with policies and procedures.


  • Variable – Daytime, Evening, Overnight, and Weekend



  • Bachelor's Degree in related field (preferred) OR
  • 1-year experience in the field (residential facility, drug, and alcohol counseling) and High School Diploma or equivalent (required)
  • Certified by a certified body recognized by the Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) as an alcohol and drug counselor ( highly preferred)
  • Registered by a certifying body recognized by the Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) as an alcohol and drug counselor prior to date of your hire (required)


  • Two years’ experience working with substance abuse population preferred


  • Knowledge and understanding of the needs of children served in a children’s residential setting.
  • Skills and ability to engage and develop rapport with children who have various backgrounds.
  • Skills and ability to provide consistency and behavioral limits through relationship-based interventions.
  • Skills to communicate effectively with the ability to solve problems in a collaborative manner.
  • Must maintain a valid CA Drivers’ License, have proof of automobile insurance and maintain a safe driving record based on Phoenix House policy.
