Odyssey Recovery is a small, residential treatment facility located in the City of Orange. Odyssey Recovery provides detoxification and residential services to men looking to gain long-term sobriety. At Odyssey Recovery we understand that addiction to substances is a difficult and often uncomfortable process to escape. It is our desire to provide the best opportunity to maintain sobriety and create happy and fulfilling lives for everyone we serve. Each member of our leadership team has been affected by substance abuse, either personally or by someone we love.

Detox Staff Duties:

  • Assist with admission and orientation of Detox residents
  • Comply with all DHCS, Joint Commission and HIPPA standards
  • Conduct searches of property and belongings
  • Measure vital signs and accurately record results
  • Medication administration, observation, counts, and documentation
  • Supervise and document all self-administered medications as per Odyssey Recovery policy and procedure
  • Complete all necessary client documentation, logs, maintenance reports, incident reports, etc.
  • Complete client observation/documentation as ordered by Physician
  • Chart resident activities and conditions accurately and descriptively
  • Crisis Intervention
  • Collaborate with treatment center staff members
  • Oversee client’s departure from detox center and their transition into outpatient treatment.
  • Initiate conversation with clients and aid with their needs in accordance to Odyssey Recovery polices
  • Treat clients with compassion and understanding
  • Mediate between professionals and family members involved in treatment according to HIPPA
  • Assist with general duties and indirect tasks
  • Effectively communicate with staff and clients both verbally and in writing
  • responsible for urine collection and processing, reading test results
  • Facilitate educational groups specific to infection control, hygiene, health and nutrition
  • Responsible for maintaining a sanitary and clean environment

Requirements:

  • Experience working with patients in a substance abuse or mental health facility
  • Knowledge of basic principles, practices and techniques of alcohol and drug dependency
  • Current LVN, CNA, MA or EMT certification/license (Similar qualifications may apply)
  • Able to follow directions from leadership team
  • Able to maintain a positive attitude and work towards creating a healthy environment for both clients and staff
  • Ability to manage time appropriately
  • Ability to work as a member of a team
  • Strong personal and professional boundaries
