Twin Town Treatment Centers Adult and Adolescent IOP program is now hiring SUD Counselors, Volunteer SUD Counselor Interns, Case Managers and Associates for 3 of our Southern California locations: Mission Viejo, Los Alamitos, Torrance.
Evening shifts 2:00pm – 10:30pm - Counselors and Case Managers
Mid shifts 11:00am - 7:30pm for Case Managers only
Day shifts - 9:30am - 6:00pm (may vary by site) for Associates at Torrance and Mission Viejo.
Minimum of a certificate in alcohol and other drug studies field. Certified or registered as a SUD Counselor. If in recovery, a minimum of 1-year abstinence. The SUD Counselor provides counseling and case management services to clients seeking SUD treatment including screening, assessment, treatment planning, group counseling and individual counseling sessions as needed. Must have reliable transportation and be willing to travel to all six sites if needed.
Substance use treatment modalities
Assessment, diagnosis and individualized treatment planning, ASAM Dimensions, Individual and Group therapy approaches, Crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques, Signs and symptoms of detoxification/withdrawal, Documentation as it relates to treatment planning process, Stages of change and ability to individualize treatment plans, Motivational interviewing techniques, Clinical interventions to deal with resistance and defensiveness, Discharge planning that supports client progress and readiness, Basic computer skills, Experience with Drug Medi-Cal requirements is a plus
Participate in a unified team approach, conduct group counseling sessions and individual counseling sessions as needed, conduct screenings, assessments and referrals, maintain accurate, complete and timely program records, monitor and document participant’s program progress, perform drug testing urinalysis specimen collection and screening as required, perform other SUD counseling duties as needed. Per Diem, part time and possible full time positions available. Case management and documentation using an electronic medical record system is also a plus.
Education and Experience:
A minimum of one (1) year of professional experience providing direct services for alcohol and drug counseling post internship, certification in substance abuse treatment or working toward certification. Experience with Drug Medi-cal is a plus.
License & Certification:
Must pass criminal background check through Live Scan, current CPR certification, current TB screening, proof of completion of an alcohol and drug studies program or enrollment, resume, reliable transportation, able to pass a drug screen and registration or certification with either CCAPP or CADTP or CAADE.
