Responsible for maintaining a safe play environment and monitoring children’s play activities while maintaining clear communication with children’s parents/guardians about daily activities, behaviors, and related issues. The child care provider will keep records on individual children that include daily observations and information about activities while supporting children’s emotional needs and social development. Child care provider will work to encourage empathy and positive self-concepts. Child care provider is responsible for insuring prenatal in-patient charts progress notes and insures all case management is discussed and entered in SAGE as well as printed and filed in patient chart. 


  • Monitoring children from parents in Prenatal program ages 0-2 months
  • Meeting with counselors to discuss needs of Prenatal patient’s
  •  Talking to others to convey information effectively.
  • Being aware of others' reactions and understanding why they react as they do.
  • Monthly checking of patient’s eligibility and placing copy in each file
  • Insure Prenatal client charts have needed progress notes/paper work so that day care can be provided 
  • Provide transportation to prenatal clients, if needed
  • Other assigned duties 

Qualifications and Summary:

  • Minimum 6-9 months experience in the drug & alcohol field.
  • Certified Substance Abuse/Addiction Counselor, a plus  
  • Spanish Bilingual is a plus
  •  Valid Driver’s License and proof of insurance is required
  • Must have knowledge of Microsoft Office 2000 and Excel.
  • Experience working with Drug Medi-Cal clients (Adult and Youth) a plus.
  • Understanding of Drug Medi-Cal requirements/process a plus.
  • Must be enrolled into a Child Development Classes (8 Units min.), OR have proof of completion from a Child Development Program   
  • Must have reliable transportation as this position requires you to travel
