Founded in 1978 Strategies for Change is considered one of the most comprehensive substance abuse and co-occurring treatment agencies for both men and women in Sacramento County. Since 2005 we have included integrated co-occurring disorders treatment as part of our menu of services, providing science informed, theory driven, evidence based substance abuse and mental health, co-occurring & support services for adults, youth & families. In our efforts to be a one-stop-shop for individuals seeking help we also provide specific counseling services for women who are pregnant, individual with developmental disabilities and cognitive impairments, individuals that are HIV positive, Anger Management, Domestic Violence, Parenting, as well as offender rehabilitation. This reflects our longstanding concern for treating the whole person, and recognizing the importance of ensuring that entry into any one system can provide access to all needed systems.

Southern California Alcohol and Drug Programs Inc. (SCADP) provides treatment for substance use disorder (SUD) and related problems. As one of the larger providers of non-profit services in Southern California, SCADP strives to provide a culturally diverse continuum of care. We base our success on our dedication to the communities served by providing treatment that includes a variety of wraparound services that address issues of homelessness, personal/financial, domestic violence, depression, mental health/ co-occurring disorders, long-term welfare dependence, criminality, traumas, HIV/AIDS, vocational and educational planning, recovery support and community linkages. SCADP also works in collaboration with our affiliate, Volunteers of America, Central City Recovery Program in Los Angeles. Together we proudly serve men, pregnant and parenting women, persons living with HIV/AIDS,and the LGBTQ community.
